Reasonably Secure Internet Access on Public WiFi

I found some great info about how to surf the web at WiFi hotspots with some extra security. You need a remote server somewhere running OpenSSH and an SSH client like PuTTy. If you set it up (it’s easy), it will protect you against some jack ass at the internet cafe running Wireshark, or some other network protocol analyzer.

Interesting find! It’s a good solution for techies, but not as good for non-techies.

Which makes me think that somewhere out there is a potential product (or business?) for securing wifi hotspots for the general non-techie user with no remote server. Like maybe somebody hosting such a server and charging for its use? Hmmm.
